Nuorese is an important part of Sardinia, famous for the beauty of its mountains and the clearness of the sea. The city of Nuoro is the capital of this aria, it stands at the foot of Mount Ortobene, where it is possible to see the statue of Redentore (the Redeemer) and an amazing view to the surrounding landscape.
But Nuorese means also beautiful beaches, such as that of the Gulf of Orosei: an uncontaminated paradise with high cliffs, white sand beaches and crystal clear sea. This area offers a lot of possibilities for people who love archaeological excursons: the nuraghic complex of Su Romanzesu, Bitti, Nodule and Nuoro and the Giants tombs near Fonni. Dorgali is another interesting little village to discover because inside its territory there are the nuraghic village of "Tiscali", the Nuraghe Mannu and S'Ena 'e Thomes Giants'Tomb.
The more particular part of Nuorese are its often lonely villages, where it is still possible to breath the atmosphere of the ancient Sardinia, rich in traditions. Sometimes old people stand outdoor telling old stories and you can smell the home made bread all around, while walking through the old street of the city centers.
